AUDIO: Key to Leadership

"I can't wait to line–up Saturday and go against somebody else besides Javon Ringer or Brian Hoyer. Just to go against new personnel, that's just exciting in itself. It's been a long camp, we've been looking at each other for a long time around here, so everbody's excited to go out there and hit somebody else." – Travis Key

EAST LANSING - Travis Key has given the Michigan State football squad quiet but steady leadership. His hard work and rise from a walk-on has produced a deep respect in his peers. He now begins a new role as one of four team captains – and couldn't be happier about it.

"I just had to stay focused and play my role, whether it was scout team or, you know, just special teams," Key says. "Everything that was given to me, you know, I just took it and ran with it and tried to do my best and go as hard as I can. I guess all that hard work just eventually paid off."
