LIVONIA, MI - One third of the trio that has propelled Livonia Stevenson into the State regionals is set to make the call to become a member of the Michigan State family today at 3:00pm.

Myles White, a prep track star and one of the top receiving prospects in the state will become a Spartans this afternoon.

"I'm calling today to tell them I'm going to commit today. I was going to tell them on Saturday, but they told me to take my time and talk it over with my family."

"Coach Dantonio called me up on Tuesday and told me straight up that I had a full ride offer and I was going to commit on the spot, but he told me to take my time and talk to my family about it. We did that and we kind of agreed on Michigan State being the place for me."

White said, he loves the beautiful Michigan State campus and that he'd been there many times before, but it was going through Spartan Stadium that really sold him.

"It was cool, I've been up there a couple of times before but going through the tunnel and going on to the field, getting the whole atmosphere for football, really got me excited to play football at the next level," said White.

He and his two brothers, Mitchell, Stevenson's quarterback and Austin, the school's top running back, are rumbling through the MHSAA playoffs and are still in the hunt for a state championship.

"Were 11-0, reports White, "and we've got (Livonia) Franklin next." If the Spartans can get past Franklin, they have a date in the state semi-finals.

Mitchell said he couldn't be happier or prouder of his brother. "He deserves it, he worked real hard to get where he is and get that offer. If you would have told me he'd get a scholarhsip to Michigan State this time last year, I'd have laughed. But he worked real hard to get it and he deserves it. We're all real happy for him.

Mitchell said his dream of joining his brother in East Lansing isn't dead yet. He will receive a full scholarship offer to Central Michigan this week and will weigh that against a track scholarship offer to MSU.

If he comes to Michigan State, it will be as an athlete because of his versatility.
