Devin Thomas Headed to the NFL

He is expected to move to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to work on improving his draft status and in preparation for the NFL combine.

EAST LANSING - Michigan State junior forward Devin Thomas will forego his senior season and enter the 2008 NFL draft.

According to several published reports, Thomas has signed with an agent which would end his college eligibility.

"Devin made his decision (Friday night)," Dwight Thomas told the Detroit News. "He's going to move on to the next level.

Thomas has been projected as a possible second round pick and is believed to have signed with Drew Rosenhaus who also represents his former teammate Drew Stanton.

Thomas and his girlfriend recently welcomed the arrival of their first child, a boy and he may be feeling the responsibility to care for his family.

The 6-foot-2 junior caught 79 balls for 1,260 yards receiving and is one of the nation's top kick returners, returning 39 times for 1,135 yards.
