Spartans Hoping To Coax Sanderson Visit

If the Spartans are successful, they hope to nab a commitment from one of the most talented offensive linemen in the state of Florida but Sanderson knows that he isn't well know by most recruitnixs.

DETROIT, MI - Michigan State's coaching staff is trying to coax a visit from talented uncommitted tackle Rhonne Sanderson of Tampa (FL) Plant high school, a first-team all-Suncoast selection, this weekend.

If the Spartans are successful, they hope to nab a commitment from one of the most talented offensive linemen in the state of Florida but Sanderson knows that he isn't well know by most recruitnixs.

To counter that, he asked his coach to begin sending out highlight tapes of his play to coaches throughout the Midwest where offensive linemen were needed.

MSU was one of the schools that saw the tape and began recruiting Sanderson. MSU's coaching staff visited with Sanderson and Panthers coach Robert Weiner on Monday.

MSU has had success recruiting players from the school before, most notably Steven Reeves who played quarterback briefly in East Lansing under John L. Smith before transferring on to Southern Mississippi.

If the Spartans can get Sanderson to visit this week, they'd better close the deal before the Florida State Seminoles get a visit the following week.

Sanderson admits to being a long-time Seminoles fan but doesn't have an offer from them right now, but could get one on his visit next week (January 25).
