GSN caught up with Omameh after a busy weekend. He visited Michigan State last weekend and came away impressed.
Still, he was unwilling to name a favorite and says he's close to wrapping up the decision making process.
"Michigan State is one of the schools I'm considering at this time. The visit went well," said the soft-spoken offensive lineman.
When asked when he'll make his decision Omameh would only say, "very soon."
Asked what he was looking for in a particular schools, Omameh became a little more guarded saying, "I don't know. There are so many variables that go into it. Basically just where ever I feel I fit best."
Omameh said he hadn't expected the interest from the two Big Ten schools that entered the picture when he verballed to Cincinnati.
"Yeah, there are some schools that weren't in the picture when I made my decision to go to Cincinnati and so those were schools that I thought I ought to consider."
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound offensive/defensive lineman really began getting notice during his stellar senior season and when he was named to the Columbus Dispatch All-Metro First Team.
Omameh confirmed that he is still interested in all three schools, Michigan, Michigan State and Cincinnati.
He said that while he will likely make his decision prior to NLI signing day, he won't announce until then.
"There's nothing in particular I need to do (as far as going through a process)," he said. I'm just trying to process things."
Omameh said his family doesn't have any preference of which school he attended and said they "liked all of the schools" he visited.
So with not even so much as a clue as to which way he's leaning, stay tuned to GSN on NLI Signing Day to find out if Michigan State grabs a talented player who could help deepen the offensive line group.
