MSU got an unexpected visit from a legend on Monday, as Los Angeles Laker and Spartan legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson paid a visit to the Spartans.
Following practice, Johnson spoke to the team for about 20 minutes in their locker room behind closed doors, with coach Tom Izzo and others waiting back out on the court.
The Lansing native and member of the 1979 National Championship Michigan State team, Johnson flew in after covering the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans the night before.
He made a stop in his hometown to speak to the struggling Spartans, who have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, seeing their Big Ten title hopes vanish.
GSN caught up with senior Drew Neitzel to talk about what Magic said to the players and if it will serve as a wake-up call to the team on Wednesday night vs Penn State
