Micajah Reynolds Extends Family to add MSU

"It just feels like an extension of my family, the family I'm already in at my high school. There are even a few people at state who are alumi of Sexton as well as people in the local Lansing area who've gone there and I've got family who've gone there. It's just a continuation of what I've already been experienced." -- new MSU commitment Micajah Reynolds

LANSING, MI - Newly committed to Michigan State, Micajah Reynolds spoke exclusively to GSN just two hours after making his pledge to the Spartans.

Reynolds talked about how he got the offer from Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and why he committed immediately, despite having offers from several other schools.

"It feels really good to have made my decision and not have to worry about it anymore," said Reynolds.

The big fellow attended several teams summer, elite and one-day camps and had offers to attend many of them, but he said looking around helped him to realize that Lansing was home and he didn't need to go anywhere else.

"It took me going down to a couple of other schools to realize that (MSU was the place for me). Just that all the different help I was getting from my 'o' line (Eddie Saade) coach and my head coach and everybody in the Sexton family. We're all the Big Red family, so it's just been a great experience that they've helped me to realize."

"It just feels like an extension of my family, the family I'm already in at my high school. So what was the feeling like when Coach Roushar took him aside to work while Coach Dantonio watched? Then he was asked to return on Monday to meet with the staff, did he know an offer was coming?

"Well I didn't know for sure if it was coming, but I had a feeling it was probably going to happen. I was really excited, it was something you dream about as a little kid and now it was coming to past."

So with the commitment out of the way, what will he do now?

"I'm going to work as hard as I can, I'm with my coach right now we're about to go work out. Now that we've done it, it's time to go to work and make it all cdone and make it come to fruition, make it so its easy for me to come in my freshman year and make it easy for my teammates this year by me coming in the best shape as possible so I can produce. That's all there is to it right now."

So since he projects to the guard position at Michigan State how will he get ready for that since he's played mostly tackle in high school?

"Yes, (playing guard) that's what its looking like. Coach Dantonio was saying that I'll probably be playing guard so that's where I'm planning on playing this senior season as well."
