Roundup: Dion Sims Likely Out for Season

Sources close to the family told GSN that Sims is upbeat and hoping to salvage part of the football season, but if not, hoping to play his senior season on the hardwood for the Eaglets.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI - One of the state's top prep prospects, Orchard Lake St. Mary's Dion Sims is likely out for the season sources have informed GSN.

Sims, a 6-foot-2, 235 pound defensive end/linebacker prospect is among the state's top five football prospects and is uncommitted despite holding offers from some of the Midwest top schools. He was planning visits to Miami and Southern Cal in the next month.

Sims is believed to have torn his MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) in his right knee and is awaiting test results from an upcoming MRI before deciding his course of action.

Larry Caper -- Facing a tough Jackson Lumen Christi squad, Battle Creek Central's Larry Caper-an MSU commitment gained 120 yards but saw Lumen Christi walk away with a 45-28 victory. Caper drew praise from the opposing coaching staff.

"Caper is the real deal, no doubt about that," said Lumen Christi coach Herb Brogan. "He had a good game. He scares you all night long. We got a couple turnovers that helped us."

Bennie Fowler -- Fowler (seven carries for 96 yards) paced the DCD offense with a combined 199 yards of offense, according to Hometown newspapers.
