SpartanAudio: MSU in Different Shoes

The Big Ten no-week-you-can-ignore train keeps moving for Michigan State. This week's opponent, Purdue, looks to play spoiler.

EAST LANSING -- Last Season, it was Michigan State fighting for its bowl season life. The Spartans went south to West Lafayette on a three-game losing streak and snkockered Purdue 48-31 to move itself into bowl eligibility.

While Purdue's (3-6) hill is much steeper this season (they need to win-out to be bowl eligible), they still have a chance. Plus, it's just good fun to beat another team while you're down and they're up.

So MSU enters the game with trepidation, hopefully having learned a lesson from Wisconsin about producing for four quarters.

Like most head coaches, Mark Dantonio has been working to make sure his team recognizes the week-to-week grind of conference play and the intensity the Boilermakers are sure to bring to Spartan Stadium this Saturday. Click through to hear the ol' ball coach talk about having your back against the wall, the talent Purdue will bring and more.

MSU leads the all-time series by a hair, 29-28-3.
