Ovid-Elsie tried to win one for Mid Michigan, but Muskegon Oakridge was just too much in the Division 5 state title game of the MHSAA Playoffs. The Marauders' key player, running back Chris Robinson, capped a brilliant season with a solid performance.

DETROIT -- Ovid-Elsie fell short of winning a state title for Mid Michigan. Junior running back Chris Robinson did all he could to push the Marauders to victory, finishing with 117 yards on 14 carries after suffering a first half horse collar.

The running back (#28), who also plays safety on defense, and Ovid-Elsie (blue and gold) battled Muskegon Oakridge (white and blue), but in the end, the western Michigan team was just too much.
