Michigan produces some outstanding talent and Dantonio and his staff know that players from the state are going to have more of an intensity about holding up the reputation of their school because of having watch the key Big Ten rivalries all their lives - they know what MSU vs Michigan, MSU vs Ohio State, MSU vs Penn State and MSU vs Wisconsin means.

One of the players who has flown somewhat under the radar is a player who Scout.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu ranks 35th on his list of the top juniors in the state.

At 6-foot-3, 265, Garret Davis of Ypsilanti Willow Run is a kid who is quickly rising up the recruiting boards and is drawing substantial interest from several Big Ten schools and schools as far away as Arizona.

Davis visited Michigan State for Junior Day and got reacquainted with the Michigan State coaching staff and is looking forward to hearing more from them.

While its early in the recruiting process, MSU has made quite an impression on Davis, who also plays for the Flyers basketball ball team.

Davis has been a camper at MSU, Michigan and Eastern Michigan since junior high and the instruction he has received has certainly paid off and he has progressed rapidly to the point of becoming a real FBS prospect at the right time in his career.
