The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect went away extremely impressed by the Spartans saying "it was his best visit so far."

DETROIT - Michigan State received a visit from defensive end prospect Kenneth McClendon of St. Louis De Smet Jesuit GoSpartans.net has learned.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect went away extremely impressed by the Spartans saying "it was his best visit so far."

McClendon has taken visits to Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue, Southern Methodist and Arkansas, but said his visit to Michigan State was his favorite and has them as an early leader.

"Most schools, I've been talking to are recruiting me as a defensive end, McClendon told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "But they're considering playing me at outside linebacker too."

McClendon left East Lansing without an offer, but Michigan State promised to keep in touch and he plans to send them more tape in the hope of getting an offer.
