So when we caught up with Big Will, we asked him if his choice of outfit meant anything....like, well, if he's a Spartan.
"The hat matched the tux, and it looked nice and I wanted to look nice," he said. "Those were the colors she picked and I like the way it looked and it matched, so we went with it."
"If she would have picked another color, I would have a different hat."
So while Michigan State is still high on his list, he says "I know I'm going to the Nike camp in Illinois this weekend (today in Champaign, IL) and I don't think I have any other plans (beyond that)."
What about the Michigan State camps?
"I haven't really sat down and thought about anything else. We get out of school on June 12th," he said.
But he said he likes Michigan State, a lot and talked about the reasons, including the family atmosphere that Coach Mark Dantonio has worked hard to instill.
"I like everything about the school and I really haven't seen anything negative. The really do have the family atmosphere. There's only two schools that I've visited that I've felt that way about (Michigan State and) Tennessee."
There's no question Michigan State would love to add a quality player and person like Gholston to its family.
While the Spartans appear to be in the top two or three, his official visits and his choice of camps, if any, will play a big role in his decision.
