Midwest Prospect Verbally Commits

This prospect was a three-year varsity starter that was named all-state in 2002. He was originally scheduled to visit Purdue this past weekend but was in East Lansing instead.

"He has some news," said the mother of offensive lineman John Masters.

"We visited Michigan State this weekend and John made a verbal commitment.

"We absolutely loved Michigan State and coach (John L.) Smith is such a class guy.

"John was supposed to visit Louisville on December 20th but that's when coach Smtih left and went to Michigan State.

"We were supposed to go to Purdue this weekend but they wanted to push back the visit.

"We visited Michigan State instead and we couldn't be happier. We're on cloud nine right now. We couldn't even feel our tires on the ground while we were driving home today."

Masters, a 6-foot-5, 265-pounder, from Carmel, Indiana is a three-year varsity starter that was named all-state in 2002.
