Spartan Commitment - Joe Toth

Florida's Joe Toth talks about his new home. Why did Toth pick the Spartans? The answer to that question and much more are inside.

"I committed to Michigan State last week," said offensive lineman Joe Toth.

"Michigan State started to recruit me when coach (John L.) Smith was hired. I went up there for a visit and really liked it.

"The players had a lot of respect for coach Smith and I really liked the campus and everything the school had to offer.

"I wanted to go to a school that was going to be a home away from home for me if you know what I mean. Michigan State just feels like home for me. "Florida International was the only other school that had offered me a scholarship." Toth, a 6-foot-3, 280-pounder, from Port Charlotte, Florida was a four-year varsity starter on both sides of the ball. He was named all-state in 2002.

Toth will play guard or center for the Spartans.
