EAST LANSING - Wadesboro North Carolina defensive tackle prospect Tra Thomas has confirmed that he will indeed visit Michigan State, most likely during the Iowa game.

Thomas recently visited Duke and liked what he saw, but didn't commit to the Blue Devils.

"The schools I am interested in are Clemson, Louisville, Wake Forest, Duke, Michigan State, Marshall, and East Carolina," said Thomas to the Devil's Den's John Watson. "I have offers from Duke, ECU, Michigan State, Marshall, Navy, Elon, Clemson, and Appalachian State."

Thomas added, "For a defensive lineman I am very strong and explosive. I have a quick first step and always try to just make plays. I can in either a 3-4 or 4-3 set up."

"When I play on the offensive line I feel like I provide good pass protection and I love to finish out the blocks. One thing I'd like to work on is developing some more moves as a defensive tackle. You can never have enough of them."

Thomas also stated that he will visit Duke again next week, but has MSU on his list coming up soon.

"I'm going to take visits to Michigan State and Marhsall in October. I'll also be going up to East Carolina sometime during bowl season. Clemson has said they want me to visit after my season is over, and I haven't gotten Duke scheduled officially yet."

Thomas has an offer from Michigan State which has had trouble securing commitments from talented defensive tackle prospects and needs to upgrade the talent level.
