If the Spartans were to fall to 1-4 on the season, they would need to win five of their last seven to even become bowl eligible.

If the Spartans were to finish 6-6, their most likely position would be in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, formerly the Motor City Bowl, a destination that has been tough on Big Ten opponents and one of the least regarded bowls games.

If they get to 7-5, they could possibly get a bid to the Insight.com bowl December 31st in Tempe, AZ., That would likely be well received by the Spartans fans who would love a trip out west into the desert.

But with games remaining at Illinois and with Iowa and Penn State, winning five out of seven seems like a tall order.
