Despite the disappointing 42-14 loss to Penn State, Franklin went away impressed and is planning a return visit - an official visit to East Lansing for a basketball weekend.
Franklin talked about his year so far. "I've been busy with my season but I was able to get down there for the game." The big lineman has his team stil busy in the Ohio State high school football playoffs. "Yeah my team is still in the playoffs. We beat Poland Seminary 24-7 and take on Stubenville this weekend."
Frankin has a ton of offers including Akron, Toledo, Bowling Green, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Michigan State, Louisville, Kansas and Ohio. He says all of them are in play. "It doesn't matter if I play close to home or far away," he said.
So what are the Michigan State coaches saying about Franklin and how he could help the team?
"They are telling me that I could come in and be able to help in my freshman year and that I might be able to play."
Franklin said he really enjoyed his visit even though he wasnt sure he could make it until the last minute and said he's already planning a return.
"I plan to return to take my official visit with Kurtis Drummond sometime this winter for a basketball game."
"I have a friend up there (at Michigan State) who took me around and showed me some of the nice places and I'm looking forward to coming back for an official visit. I really want to see their football buiding across the street (the Skandalaris Center)."
Despite just carrying a two-star ranking from Scout.com, Franklin has an offer from Michigan State and appears to be solidly in their plans. GSN will watch closely the developments surounding this under-the-radar star who could end up in Green-and-White.
