MSU already had a solid commitment from one of the state's best back in Chelsea star Nick Hill, but with the dismissal of former Detroit Denby star Glenn Winston from the team today, MSU may need a few more bodies in the class.
The Spartans were already looking to add another back to the group following the departure of running back Caulton Ray and Andre Anderson from the team.
They hosted James White of Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas and White reported have a great time in East Lansing.
One player who the Spartans could make a move on is Erick Howard of North Canton (OH) Hoover high school. Howard, a three-star prospect, isn't shy about professing his love for Ohio State and his desire to be a Buckeye, but so far they have not offered him a scholarship.
Could MSU swoop in and grab a talented player with the offer of some immediate playing time? It's possible.
Another player MSU could try to jump on is Cedar Rapids (IA) George Washington back Andre Dawson. Dawson, a four star recruit is known to favor Purdue, Wisconsin, Kansas and Iowa, but what would a Michigan State offer and visit do?
Dawson clearly has not been wowed by any of the teams recruiting him to date and it does not appear too late for MSU to jump in the sweepstakes.
One thing's for sure, with three gone, MSU needs to add at least one more.
