Coach Barnett stopped by," Black told Sam Webb of GBW, " and we talked about an official (visit)." But new Louisville head coach Charlie Strong didn't take long to make a pitch to Black to try to get him to take a visit to Lousiville.
"We've been talking for the past couple weeks," Black told InsidetheVille.com. "I talked to him [Monday] and he told me he thought I would be good on Louisville's defense and he liked the way I played. He wrote me a couple [recruiting] letters when he was at Florida and I knew they had a great defense there and he was the guy behind it. I know he's a great coach."
Michigan has also made a pitch to Black. Coach (Jay) Hopson made it by Wednesday. He let me know that Michigan still wants me and that they still have an interest in me. He talked to me about (a visit on) the 22nd (of January)."
Michigan State has renewed their emphasis at the position and can offer immediate playing time for 2010 and beyond.
MSU is awaiting decisions from Camden Catholic Central star Sherard Cadogan and Pageland, SC standout Kegan Funderburk. No one seems to know for sure the status of Pageland Central (SC) defensive end Kegan Funderburk.
Niether he nor his coach has returned numerous phone calls and other attempts to contact him as of this writing. He certainly has major college talent after leading his squad to the South Carolina state championship.
If MSU could get Black, Cadogan and Funderburk they'd likely take them all because of the difficulty of finding FBS talent at the position.
