So what are the chances that this solid defensive line prospect lands in East Lansing? GET INside to find out.

BUFORD, GA - Michigan State may have found a diamond in the rough in Buford, GA defensive tackle/end Jerome Davis.

Davis confirmed to that he has a visit to Michigan State scheduled for mid-January. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound defensive lineman is coming on strong with schools throughout the midwest and the south.

He has 12 scholarship offers including Mississippi, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Illinois and North Carolina State. In addition, he's taken unofficial visits to Troy, Ohio, Alabama, Clemson and is receiving interest from Central Florida, Appalachian State, Western Kentucky, Kent State and now Michigan State.

Still, despite all the offers and interest, Davis seems genuinely interested in the opportunity that presents itself in East Lansing.

"I think it's going to be pretty cold up there, laughed Davis. "But, no, that doesn't bother me and I wouldn't mind playing in the snow," he said.

Davis explained how the Spartans found out about him in the deep South.

"I guess they found out about my skills because of my tape, we sent it up there to them."

He also said he's looking forward to seeing what there is to see on the MSU campus. "When I come up, I hope to see everything, some snow and maybe a MSU basketball game."

It appears that January 15th is going to be the date that Davis comes to East Lansing (Editor's note: Davis has scheduled his visit for January 22, 2010 to visit East Lansing, MI). He also is setting up official visits with Miami, West Virginia and South Carolina which would seem to indicate, those are four of his five finalists.

Stay tuned to see what happens with this late developing recruitment.
