As Allen Trieu pointed out in his article, Michigan State was very active yesterday at their winter Junior Day offering Ogemaw Heights lineman Anthony Zettel.
Another player who picked up an offer might be the best safety in the Midwest, Columbus Eastmoor's Ron Tanner.
Tanner was happy to get an MSU offer and has them high on his list.
"It's was really good," said Tanner of the junior day program.
I got a chance to see all their facilities which, I really wasn't sure what that was going to be like. Everything was really nice at Michigan State from the weight room, the training room and even the staff they were really straight with me. They weren't feeding me with any nonsense or anything like that."
Tanner said it was great that its close enough for his family to drive up to see
"I'm definitely very interested in Michigan State but as far as having like a 'top list,' I really don't have a top list right now. I'm going to look at all my schools and just see where everything is, but Michigan State is high on my interest list."
Tanner said that both MSU and Ohio State offered this weekend, putting his total up to seven and he is happy to have three now from the Big Ten.
"I definitely do like the whole atmosphere of Big Ten football, I like the idea of playing Big Ten football, but that's not a guarantee that I'll (end up at a Big Ten school.)
The junior played his first full season at Quarterback for Eastmoor and lost both of his top receivers at the beginning of the year, but that didn't stop Tanner from leading Eastmoor to the Division III state finals before falling to Champion Aurora.
The Warriors finished 13-2 and Tanner is looking forward to his senior season with his entire offensive line returning.
Still he said that team are recruiting him first and foremost as a free safety.
"They are mostly recruiting me as a safety. I definitely love playing safety," said Tanner.
