Spartans Offer Two More

Michigan State offered two more Midwest standouts on Tuesday night, one from their own state.

Michigan State extended offers to two of the Midwest's top prospects yesterday.

"I just got an offer from Michigan State," Kenosha (WI) Bradford running back Melvin Gordon reported to Scout.com.

The 6'1, 185-lb Gordon currently has other offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota and Washington State.

He finished his junior season with 96 carries, 1,060 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns, earning honorable mention All-State honors.

The second offer did not have to travel far to find its destination.

"Valdez was offered by Michigan State," Madison Heights Madison assistant coach Chanterius Brock reported.

Valdez Showers is a 6'0, 180-lb cornerback who made the all-state team as a running back a year ago. In that season, he rushed for 1,542 yards and 20 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, where he is being recruited, he made 42 tackles and broke 12 passes up.

Showers currently holds other offers from Northwestern, Central Michigan, where his brother Valtorrey is on the team, Toledo and Wisconsin.

Scout.com and GoSpartans.net will have more on these recruits in the near future.
