Does Donavon Clark Have Interest In Spartans

Donavon Clark has seen continued interest from several programs across the country. But one program that he has interest in is Michigan State. SpartanDigest.com spoke with Donavon's father Phil Clark for the details on his son.

At 6-foot-4, 295-pounds Donavon Clark of Cincinnati (Ohio) Finneytown High School has seen several programs show major interest. With fourteen offers now on the table, Clark is still hoping to hear from Michigan State. Why such an interest? Phil Clark has the answer.

"I grew up in Flint and I'm from the same neighborhood that guys like Andre Rison came from. So I grew up on Michigan State football. Coach Barnett has talked with Donavon in the past and we thought we might get invited to their Junior Day, but that didn't happen so we've not heard much from them since that time."

With fourteen offers now in hand, Clark is starting to see the bigger programs jump on board.

"Donavon just got offers from USC and North Carolina State. The coaches at USC had been talking with Donavon when they were at Tennessee and have just made contact again with an offer."

As for the programs who have not offered the Clark's are still keeping options open and will be looking to visit a program next weekend for a spring game.

"Right now we're not sure what game we may go to. We may stay here in Cincinnati or may go over to West Virginia for their game."

Will the Spartans get in the race on Clark? Only time will tell but look for several other programs to start jumping on board with his offer from the Trojans.
