Schofner Ready To Get Started

While he still has a few months before reporting, Skyler Schofner is ready to get going. We spoke with Schofner to get the latest.

Scout.com 4-star offensive lineman Skyler Schofner of Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut High School is one of Mark Dantonio's key recruits for the Class of 2010. While Schofner hasn't had a chance to visit East Lansing much he's ready for a visit next weekend.

"I've not had a chance to go up there much but I'll be up there next week for the spring game. I'll either come up with Travis Jackson or with my family."

As for Jackson, the two Central Ohio natives will get to know each other well come June.

"Travis and I are going to be roommates when we get up there."

While some players are getting ready for All-Star games, Schofner has already played in the two he was allowed. But that hasn't stopped him from working to make sure he's ready.

"I've been lifting, running and trying to get ready to be the best when I get up there."

While Schofner knows the coaches are off to their next class, he's stayed in contact with them since signing day.

"I talk with them every now and then but right now they are busy with practice and recruiting."

As for the wait before he reports, Skyler stresses his desire to get started.

"Oh man, I'm really excited and can't wait to get up there and get going."

Schofner is sure to be one of several signees to visit this coming weekend for the Spartans annual Green-White Game.
