Ohio Linebacker Needs To See More

As Shaquille Petteway continues to pick up offers he knows things will continue to heat up during the recruiting process. Petteway talks about a favorite and his interest in Michigan State.

While Shaquille Petteway will not be at Michigan State this weekend he still has interest in the Spartans program. SpartanDigest.com spoke with the 6-foot-1, 200-pound outside linebacker from Steubenville, Ohio about the Spartans.

"I've not had a chance to go back since I attended their camp. I like it up there and would like to get up there on campus some more."

While Petteway says the Spartans are still in the game, he's also quick to point out if he had to pick a favorite it would be a program closer to home.

"If I had to pick a top one right now I'd have to say West Virginia because of how close it is to home. I'm going to try and go to their spring game at the end of this month but don't know if I'll make it or not."

What chances to the Spartans have with Petteway?

"Coach Tressel is recruiting me and he's a cool guy. When I went to camp there the other year I took a tour of the new part of their facilities when they were still being built. I've not had a chance to go back and see them since they've been finished."

At this time Petteway has plans to attend at least a couple of camps.

"I'm going to try and go to Michigan State and West Virginia for their one-day camps this summer."

The Spartans will look to stay in the race for Petteway and get him back on campus before he makes a college choice.
