Donavon Clark A Spartan Target

With an ever growing offer list, Ohio lineman Donavon Clark is now officially on the Spartans radar. SpartanDigest.com caught up with Clark to get the latest.

For Donavon Clark the recruiting process has seen a steady stream of scholarship offers ranging from the Big East, MAC, ACC and the Big Ten. Michigan State is now official on that list as they've offered the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Clark a scholarship.

"I spoke with Coach (Harlon) Barnett and he was really excited," Clark said by phone. "Then I spoke with Coach (Mark) Dantonio. He said they were offering me a scholarship and they would like to get me up on campus."

Having camped at Michigan State last summer, Clark got to see a small part of what the Spartans are all about.

"I didn't really get to see a lot other than the indoor practice facility and the outdoor fields. But I'm looking forward to visiting this summer to look around and see what they have."

The Spartans pull on the full court press with Clark as tight ends/tackles coach Mark Staten also took a turn on the phone.

Being recruited as an offensive lineman, Clark seems to have found a nice connection with his recruiting coach Harlon Barnett.

"Coach Barnett is a high tempo type of guy. He's also from Cincinnati so we have some things in common."

While he's now working towards a spot at the State Track Championships, Clark knows he'll soon have to make a choice.

"I'm narrowing down my list for the summer and look forward to visiting the program I have serious interest in. Michigan State is right up there."

Spartan Digest will continue to follow Clark in the coming weeks and report on any movement from the Cincinnati (Ohio) Finneytown product.
