Spartan 66 Player Ranking #66

In looking at players on the current roster and players getting ready to enter Michigan State this fall, presents its Spartan 66 Rankings. What is our reason for naming sixty-six Spartans? Michigan State last won a National Championship in 1966. We start with player #66.

SD Ranking: #66

Skyler Schofner

Position: Offensive Lineman

Exp: High School Recruit

Skyler Schofner may only be an incoming freshman, but much is expected of him as he's got the physical size to compete the first day he puts on the pads. Do we expect Schofner to be a starter this fall? No! But the experience he'll receive this year is very important when looking at the future of the program.

Strengths: Physical size and strength.

Weakness: Experience and level of competition.

Overall: Schofner will be pushed in early camp to compete and give full effort during the rest of the season. While he could push those in front of him, his future is ahead of him and if possible it would be wise for him to take a redshirt year.

Why He Made The List: When you recruit a player like Schofner you must get him ready for battle as soon as you can. He's the future success of the program and while we look for him to take a redshirt, he could also be a player that surprises and takes a few snaps on the field.
