Spartan 66 Player Ranking #61

In looking at players on the current roster and players getting ready to enter Michigan State this fall, presents its Spartan 66 Rankings. What is our reason for naming sixty-six Spartans? Michigan State last won a National Championship in 1966. We're now at player #61.

SD Ranking: #61

Mitchell White

Position: Defensive Back

Exp: Redshirt Sophomore

Last season saw White get a taste of being on the field with appearances in the final four games of the season. While he didn't do anything to really set the world on fire, he did get his teeth wet and you would hope push him even more. A very solid athlete who has also competed on the MSU indoor track team, White has some ability and just needs to keep putting things together.

Strengths: Solid athlete with good size and athletic ability still making the transition from offense to defense.

Weakness: Lack of experience as a cornerback.

Overall: Good size at 6-foot-1, needs to keep putting on some weight and feel more confident about his abilities. While he'll be in a position to move up the depth chart, having Chris L. Rucker in front of him will slow his chances of getting major playing time. This ranking could be too low when we look back.

Why He Made The List: Good size and physical skills make White a player to keep an eye on during the 2010 season. He should continue to make strides in his game and look to push for reps each week. With a solid season White could be pushing for more time when the spring comes around. He also could be passed up with the influx of top talent coming into the program this season. Must give the Spartans something on special teams.
