Position: Running Back
Exp: High School – 1 Spring
Players that come into college early you never know what you're going to get. Some surprise while others find the going tough as they adjust to college life and going against guys bigger, stronger and faster. Le'Von Bell showed why Mark Dantonio was excited about getting him into the Spartan program as Bell showed power, and burst with the ability to play early.
Strengths: Physical size, strength, burst.
Weakness: Youth and lack of game experience.
Overall: While we talked about Nick Hill maybe taking a redshirt, Le'Von Bell is a player that could see action this fall because of his physical size at the running back position. Bell is a power back who can go between the tackles and take a hit while getting the hard yards. This might be very tempting to the Spartans offensive staff.
Why He Made The List: Bell went from under talked about Ohio prospect to Michigan State and showed Mark Dantonio and his staff really knows how to break down talent. While Larry Caper is a big back at 5-foot-11, 220-pounds, Bell really stands out at 6-foot-2, 230-pounds. While he's not going to kill you with breakaway speed, he's fast enough with a good solid burst to pick up several yards per carry. He could be redshirted but could also prove to be a major offensive weapon.< P>
