Crystal Ball Week 4

Spring practice is now a memory and fans are counting down until camp opens up in August. In our Spartan Digest Crystal Ball the Spartans are sitting with a record of 3-0 heading into a home contest against FCS member Northern Colorado. How does Spartan Digest see this contest ending up? We look into our crystal ball.

Northern Colorado (Sat., Sept 25, 2010) Spartan Stadium TBA

2009 Record: 3-8

Last Game Against MSU: First-ever meeting

Spartan Digest won't go into a big breakdown on Northern Colorado. The Bears should be no match for Michigan State when they travel to East Lansing to battle the Spartans and continue with their "State" tour.

Coming off a 3-8 mark in 2009, Bears head coach Scott Downing will prepare his team to battle the Big Ten with games against Adams State, Weber State and Idaho State.

The Spartans should expect the same results Kansas posted against the Bears in 2009 as they beat the Bears 49-3.

While Mark Dantonio may have a hard time running up the score, he should be able to use his bench and give some younger players experience before heading into Big Ten play. This is the perfect place to have a game like this as the Spartans will be coming off a huge contest against Notre Dame while also looking ahead to another home battle against Wisconsin.

After this victory the Spartan Digest Crystal Ball has the Spartans sitting with a record of 4-0 going into Big Ten play. Crystal Ball Prediction: Spartans Win – 38-7.
