Browne Looked To Impress Spartans

Benson Browne made the trip to Michigan State on Saturday looking to land an offer from the Spartans, how did he do?

With the search on for a tight end in the Class of 2011, several prospects from across the Midwest looked to open the eyes of Michigan State coaches, one of these top prospects was Benson Browne of Cincinnati (Ohio) Walnut Hills High School.

Browne made the trip with his high school coach George Kontsis and his coach has high hopes he'll soon have a player playing for Mark Dantonio.

Mark Dantonio is a class act and I'd love to have a player under him. I think Benson has a chance."

With offers from Minnesota, Miami Ohio, North Carolina State, Bowling Green, West Virginia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisville and Cincinnati, Browne has seen a lot of interest.

Here are some highlights from Browne's junior season to see him in action.

As for how he did on the field, Spartan Digest has the following breakdown.

Browne has the physical size to play tight end at the college level. While he shows good athletic ability he also needs some work to fine tune the skill needed to play tight end. Browne is a Division One player for sure, but I feel he's more suited to play offensive line. While some around college football will have no problem leaving him as a tight end, in Michigan State's offense I see an offensive lineman.

Spartan Digest will be checking with Browne to get the latest.
