Williamson Gives Spartan Digest The Latest

Ohio wide receiver/defensive back Roger "R.J" Williamson was working on his game Thursday afternoon when Spartan Digest caught up with him. He gives the latest on his recruiting.

With Michigan State working hard to secure a player of Roger Williamson's abilities, the Dayton (Ohio) Dunbar athlete was busy with his teammates at a 7-on-7 event at Welcome Stadium.

With several teams in attendance, Williamson by far was the top prospect on the field and showed his aggressive but smooth athletic ability.

At 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, Roger Williamson is by far a high priority prospect for the Spartans. So where does Williamson stand?

"Nothing really has changed since the last time. I camped at Ohio State and they really liked what they saw, but they've got to have a meeting here in about a week to talk about offering me a scholarship. Now, I'm just working on my game and looking to take some unofficial visits in September for some games to see who I'm really interested in."

Make no mistake, Roger Williamson is a player Mark Dantonio would love to get in the fold. While he's ranked as a wide receiver, Williamson has no problem going to the defensive side of the ball and become a top cornerback.

Spartan Digest will continue to check in with R.J in the coming weeks.
