Spartan 66 Player Rankings #20

In looking at players on the current roster and players getting ready to enter Michigan State this fall, SpartanDigest.com presents its Spartan 66 Rankings. What is our reason for naming sixty-six Spartans? Michigan State last won a National Championship in 1966. We're now at player #20.

SD Ranking: #20

Blake Treadwell

Position: Nose Tackle

Exp: Sophomore

Having seen Blake play as a high school player in Ohio didn't prepare me for the player that put on a Spartan uniform last season as a true freshman. Blake made great strides to his game from the time he left Ohio for Michigan.

Strengths: Football knowledge, body control.

Weakness: Experience on the field

Overall: Not many expected Blake Treadwell to be on the field during his freshman season. Holding him out of the first four games with plans of redshirting him, the Spartan coaches made the move to play him and this moves him up the list in the Spartan 66.

Why He Made The List: Pushed into action as a true freshman will help Blake play a bigger role this season. While he posted some solid minutes and solid stats, he'll need to continue to push and take his game to another level. Should play solid minutes in key spots in helping the Spartans defense improve upon last season, if not things could be interesting along the front four.
