Allen Dismissed From Spartans

There has been much talk over the past few months about the future of Michigan State guard Chris Allen. On Tuesday the final nail was placed into the coffin as Allen was dismissed from the team.

With much of the media covering the Spartans in Chicago for Big Ten Football Media Day, word was released by the university on the status of senior to be guard Chris Allen.

In a statement released by Michigan State, head coach Tom Izzo had the following to say about Allen.

"It's been no secret that Chris Allen's been in a tenuous position since spring. There were multiple obligations that Chris had to meet in order to return for his senior season. While he did make progress through the summer, he has failed to meet all the obligations and will not be a part of our program this fall."

Last season, Allen averaged 8.4 points per game and 2.2 rebounds. He started five games last season and was fifth on the team in scoring and led the team in 3-point field-goals made with 52.

Allen was suspended by Izzo for the Spartans Big Ten tournament loss against Minnesota for a violation of team rules.
