Position: Running Back
The Spartans are blessed to have two high quality running backs in their stable for the 2010 season. However, even better than having two top backs, is having two young top quality backs. Larry Caper started five games last season and picked up 468 yards on 128 carries. Team him with Edwin Baker, and many are looking to see just how explosive the pair will be.
Strengths: Size, strength & speed.
Weakness: Continue to work on the smaller parts of his game.
Overall: After earning several honors after last season, Larry Caper will be looked upon by Mark Dantonio to continue his growth as a player. Teaming with Edwin Baker to give the Spartans a great one-two punch, Caper should post better numbers this fall as he continues to get better.
Why He Made The List: With great size (220-pounds) and balance, Larry Caper showed great promise in his freshman season. Now, after getting a full year in the Spartans weight room and program Caper should be ready to post bigger numbers while sharing carries with Baker. In a different year, Caper could have earned a higher spot on the list, but no matter where he is at, he is expected to be one of the top backs in the Big Ten.
