Exp: 5th Year Senior
While all the talk about the Spartans linebackers goes to Greg Jones, Fifth-year senior Eric Gordon has played just as an important role. The Traverse City (MI) West product has started 36 games during his Spartans career making him a season veteran.
Strengths: Dependable, solid, plays smart with great effort and stays within his abilities.
Weakness: Not flashy.
Overall: There is a very good reason why Eric Gordon will leave Michigan State with little fanfare. Greg Jones steals the headlines and for good reasons, but Gordon is always, there ready to make plays . A year from now Pat Narduzzi will look around wishing Gordon were back for another year.
Why He Made The List: Eric Gordon has started 36 out of the 38 college games he has been a part of during his Michigan State career. Not only has he made a number of starts, he has also made a number of plays placing him second in tackles in each of the past two seasons. This season should be another great year for Gordon and a main reason Michigan State could be one of the surprised teams in college football.
