Spartan 66 Player Rankings #10

In looking at players on the current roster and players getting ready to enter Michigan State this fall, presents its Spartan 66 Rankings. What is our reason for naming sixty-six Spartans? Michigan State last won a National Championship in 1966. We are now at player #10.

SD Ranking: #10

John Stipek

Position: Center

Exp: 5th Year Senior

The pressure is on John Stipek to have a solid and productive season. In his last year, Stipek will be looked upon to anchor the offensive line replacing Joel Nitchman. If Stipek can continue to grow as a player, the Spartans will be a better group as a whole along the offensive line. If he stumbles, he will find others pushing for his spot.

Strengths: Has earned his way into starters role, physical size.

Weakness: Must prove can be every down player and run the offense.

Overall: Placing John Stipek at the number ten spot was an easy choice. The offense starts at the center position and Stipek needs to have a strong final season if the Spartans hope to have the type of year many think is possible. Solid player who has put in the time to get his chance to show what he can do.

Why He Made This position is one of importance for the Spartans and John knows going into the season, he will need to perform at the highest level he has ever played at. There must be limited number of mistakes from John and many in the program feel he is ready for the challenges in front of him.
