Spartan 66 Player Rankings #5

In looking at players on the current roster and players getting ready to enter Michigan State this fall, presents its Spartan 66 Rankings. What is our reason for naming sixty-six Spartans? Michigan State last won a National Championship in 1966. We are now at player #5.

SD Ranking: #5

Chris L. Rucker

Position: Defensive Back

Exp: Senior

Chris Rucker has all the tools to play at the next level. The problem is he has yet to put everything together and become the total package. In 2010, Rucker will take the steps needed to become one of the best in the Big Ten. Built with great physical size, and natural athletic ability, Rucker must have a big year if the Spartans are to have a better record and fight for a Big Ten Championship.

Strengths: Physical size and athletic ability, game experience.

Weakness: Has yet to put everything together to reach elite status.

Overall: Rucker is a player Mark Dantonio wanted and got when he took over the program. The results have been positive, but many feel Rucker has yet to reach his full potential. The Spartans need him to come up big in 2010 to reach the success many feel they can have.

Why He Made The List: Chris L. Rucker has all the tools to be a 1st Team All-Big Ten selection. Can he do it in 2010? Many feel he will. He has the tools and ability and should have a chance to play in the NFL after he finishes at Michigan State.
