SD Ranking: #1

Kirk Cousins

Position: Quarterback

Exp: Redshirt Junior

The 2010 season will be the deciding factor of Kirk Cousins greatness as a Michigan State Spartan. Mark Dantonio and Dave Warner have placed all their trust into Kirk's ability to lead and produce on the field. No longer looking over his shoulder, Kirk Cousins is set to have his biggest season at the college level.

Strengths: Leadership, accuracy, arm strength.

Weakness: Can he continue to take his game to another level and avoid costly mistakes.

Overall: Kirk Cousins enters the 2010 season knowing all eyes are on him and his ability to continue to improve as a quarterback. One of the most accurate passers in the game, Kirk Cousins must put behind him the growing pains from last season and achieve greatness for the Spartans to win at a high level.

Why He Made The List: If Michigan State is to have their best season since Mark Dantonio took over, Kirk Cousins will be the major reason why. This is why he earned the #1 spot in the Spartan 66 rankings. Last season was one of growth, Cousins is saying all the right things and is showing the confidence he had when he committed to the Spartans when some felt he was good enough to play at this level. While other quarterbacks may get more press in the Big Ten, Kirk Cousins will be the one quarterback opposing teams will not want to face.
