Lamb Makes Case

Cleveland, OH.- The adidas Midwest Elite Camp hosted by Ohio Basketball Club's Mike Duncan in Garfield Heights, OH. this weekend was a success as over 100 players attended the two day event. Players from Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Montreal, New York, Ohio, Texas, and West Virginia showcased their skills and a player from Michigan's 2013 class was one of the standouts.

6'6 Jackson Lamb of Temperance-Bedford High School in Temperance, MI  is a very athletic forward and he showed plenty of bounce this past weekend.  The talented youngster  dunked or attempted to dunk everything around the rim.  He's long, runs the floor well, and play solid defense on the perimeter and in the post.  Like most high school sophomore forwards he needs to work on his ball-handling and perimeter game but he has the potential to play on the high major level.  This past weekend he made a case for the top 2013 player at the event and is currently the #2 player in Michigan's 2013 class behind Romulus' 6'3" wing EC Mathews.

As one of the top prospects in Michigan he has already garnered attention from Big Ten coaches including Michigan.  He earned a scholarship offer from Central Michigan after playing well for Team Toledo in the 15u Super Showcase this past July.  However, his national exposure was limited due to that fact that he also pitches for one of the top high school baseball teams in Michigan during spring's A.A.U events.   To top it off, Lamb is a solid student who is focusing on basketball now and recently started working out with Ohio State commit Marc Loving.  Loving is another member of the 2013 class, a 6'6" forward, and attends Toledo (OH.) St. John's which is seven miles to the southwest of Temperance.

Overall, this event earned Lamb the respect of scouts in attendance as one of the best 2013 players in the Midwest.  He recently called Michigan assistant Lavall Jordan and more than likely will make an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor for a U of M football game in two weekends.  Expect to hear more about Lamb in the future as he improves and picks up additional scholarships.

Stay tuned to GoBlueWolverine for more on this rising prospect in the coming weeks and months.
