U-M 31, Ill 31. First Half Stats, Drives

**ESPN said this was the most total points ever scored in a U-M game in a half, 62 ... the previous was 55.** Michigan had 9 possessions in the half -- the same as in the whole PSU game last week.

First Quarter Stats
U-M gained 116 yards, 85 passing, 31 rushing ... and has 7 points, 2 interceptions and a fumble.
Illinois gained 119 yards, 62 passing, 57 rushing. Ill has 6 points and a fumble.

Jeremy Gallon took the kickoff to the U-M 24.
On the 1st play, Denard Robinson hit Roy Roundtree on a seem route up the middle for the 76 yard TD.

Michigan 7, Illinois 0

Illinois #1

Illinois took the kickoff from the Ill 10 to the 33.

On the 1st play Ill took a pitch for 11 to the Ill 44.

Ill ran, passed, ran to the U-M 43.

Two plays later Ill pass to the U-M 31.

Two plays later Scheelhaase scrambled to the U-M 17.

Ill threw an incompletion, then ran for a -1 TFL, then a holding call moved it back to the U-M 27, then on 3rd and 20 threw an incompletion. Ill kicked a 44 yard field goal at the 8:56 mark.

A flag on the kickoff return brought the ball back to the U-M 18.

Denard ran 4 (fumbled but Molk recovered), then for 2 more, then he hit Junior Hemingway for 10 to the U-M 34.

On the next play Vincent Smith ran up the middle to the U-M 47.

Denard ran it 2, then Smith ran it 8 to the Ill 43.

Denard ran it 2, then Roundtree dropped a wide open pass, then Ill intercepted a tipped ball at the U-M 47 at the 6:09 mark.

On the first play Ill hit a wide open pass to the U-M 13.

Ill ran it 4, then on 2nd down fumbled at the U-M 15 at the 5:05 mark.

On the 1st play Denard threw in interception at the U-M 34 at the 5:01 mark.

Ill ran for 4, then 4, then got stopped for no gain at the U-M 31. Ill kicked a 43 yard field goal at the 2:57 mark.

On the next play Ill ran it to the U-M 7, then to the U-M 4.

Denard ran it 1, then Michael Shaw dropped a screen, then Denard scrambled for 1, then on 4th down hit Roundtree over the middle for the 33 yard TD at the 12:36 mark.

Illinois #5

Illinois took the kickoff to the U-M 46.

Ill was flagged for holding on 1st down (Martin went down on his ankle again), then on the next play Ill took a pitch 64 yards to the house at the 11:55 mark.

Illinois 21, Michigan 14

Michigan #6

Gallon took the kickoff to the U-M 36. Roundtree dropped a short pass, then Denard ran it 13 to the U-M 49.

Denard hit Roundtree for 9, then Smith ran it 6 to the Ill 36.

Denard ran it 4, then Smith 5, then Stonum caught a pass out of bounds at the 2, then on 4th down the pass to Roundtree was broken up at the 9:30 mark.

Illinois #6

Starting at the U-M 30, on 1st down Ill ran it 14 to the U-M 44.

There the drive stalled at the 7:48 mark.

Michigan #7

The punt went for a touchback; U-M 20.

Stephen Hopkins ran for 1, then Denard hit Roundtree deep to the Ill 4.

On the next play Hopkins took the ball in at the 6:56 mark.

Ill took the kickoff to the U-M 29.

Ill ran for 4, then 2, then threw an incompletion at the 5:26 mark.

Gallon took the punt return from the U-M 14 to the 27.

Smith ran it 3, then Denard 3, then Denard scrambled and hit Stonum at the U-M 48.

Shaw ran it 4, then 3 more, then hit Hemingway at the 20 ... Hemingway scrambled and ran for the TD at the 3:01 mark.

The kickoff went out of bounds ... Ill 40. On 1st down Ill ran it to the U-M 44.

Ill ran it 1, then Scheelhaase scrambled 8, then ran to the U-M 33.

Ill threw an incompletion, then three the TD hass at the 1:11 mark.

U-M ran a reverse on the kickoff and Daryl Stonum took it to the Ill 26.

Denard ran it 6 to the Ill 20, then called timeout at the :51 mark. Denard ran it 2 and called timeout again at the :45 mark. Denard threw an incompletion, then on 4th down Seth Broekhuizen kicked a 35 yard field goal at the :37 mark.

Illinois took the bouncing kickoff to the Ill 35 at the :32 mark.

Ill threw it 6 at the :26 mark, then hit a pass to the U-M 34 at the :18 mark.

Ill ran it 8 at the :11 mark, then threw an incompletion at the :07 mark, then kicked a 43 yard field goal at the :03 mark.
