Morgan Strong With Michigan

The Great Lakes State linebacker spoke with GoBlueWolverine to discuss the coaching hire and the status of his commitment to the Maize & Blue.

Desmond Morgan is in the same boat as a lot of Michiga supporters right now -- asking more questions about his new coach, Brady Hoke.

"To be honest, I don't know that much about him," Morgan admitted to GoBlueWolverine. "I know he was on the 1997 team as a coach on the defensive line. I know he definitely understands the position and what there is at Michigan. To be honest I still have a lot to learn about him and I look forward to the opportunity to meet him first off and play for him in the future."

Unfamiliarity aside, Morgan remains excited about the is one hundred percent committed to the Wolverines.

"That is absolutely correct. When I picked Michigan, it wasn't just for the coaching staff. It was the school, the education, the atmosphere, the tradition and everything that comes along with Michigan. I want to be a part of that and I think Coach Hoke is a great addition to that and I just look forward to playing for him."

Coach Hoke and the recruiting staff that remained with the Wolverines certainly seem to be getting the ball rolling trying to meet recruits that are committed, by inviting them to see the basketball team tomorrow evening.

"I talked to Coach Singletary a little bit ago, via email. He asked if I wanted to attend the Ohio State basketball game tomorrow night, but unfortunately I won't be able to go. It sounds like they are making an effort to get the recruits to meet and get in contact with Coach Hoke, so as soon as possible, I'm looking forward to talking to him and seeing him at the spring game and that's the latest I think I'd meet him but hopefully I'll have a phone call with him between now and then."

Morgan, one of the more recent commitments, so to speak, hasn't been able to forge many relationships with future teammates, but has with another linebacker committed to Michigan currently.

"Not really so much," Morgan quipped on building relationships with other commits. "There were a couple guys on my official visit that I got to know. I've talked to Kellen Jones a little bit on the phone and text back and forth. I talked to him a little bit earlier today. I just talked to him and he seems like a good kid, but I'm not sure if I'm in a position to speak for him, but he seemed optimistic about it and wants to meet Coach Hoke like everyone else does."

Talking with Coach Singletary through the process has helped, but hasn't shed that much on the future of who will be joining the Maize & Blue under Hoke.

"Everything that I've had in contact with him going through this whole process, he probably knew as much as I did from watching the TV. They were keeping everything really close to the vest and we all really know just about Coach Hoke being hired today."
