Last season Dewayne Hendricks was slowed early by a knee injury, but that did not prevent him from coming back and excelling on the field. His efforts led to All South Jersey honors and got the attention of plenty of college programs from around the United States. Coach Heck informed us that Dewayne's talents on the field are equaled by the type of person he is off of it. It would seem that Michigan shares this opinion based upon recent happenings in young Mr. Hendricks' recruitment by the Wolverines.

How was your recent visit to Michigan?

It was a nice experience. I visited all over the campus, as well as the football facilities. I saw basically everything the school has to offer.

Can you give me your stats from last season?

I had 65 tackles, 3 sacks, and 1 pass break-up.

Describe yourself as a player.

Well, we don't really see teams that pass the ball a lot around here. We have to play the run more. So, I guess people would see me as a run stopper, but I can rush the passer too.

Can you give me your height, weight, and forty time?

I measured in at 6-4 and 255 lbs. last year, but I think I've grown a little taller since then. Last year I went to a Temple camp and ran a 4.9.

Do you have a favorite at this point?

As of right now, I'd say Michigan is my favorite school.

Have you visited any other schools?

I've been to Rutgers and Miami.

Can you name a top 5?

They would be Michigan, Iowa, Boston College, Georgia Tech, and Michigan State.

What schools have offered you?

Michigan, Boston College, Iowa, Virginia, Pitt, and Rutgers.

What position do you want to play in college?

I want to play defensive end.

I spoke to your coach and he said that he wants you to have a decision made before signing day. Do you think you will be able to do that?

I think I'll have my decision made well before signing day … probably by December.
