His Recruiting Story
Desmond is a two-way star for the West Ottawa football team. He plays both quarterback and linebacker. While he had a good season at quarterback, his prowess on defense is what has garnered Morgan the most attention. Morgan had 120 tackles and four sacks as a junior, earning honorable mention All-State honors. With those honors came interest from all over the Midwest. Northwestern became the first school to offer him shortly after. Wisconsin recruited him as a fullback. Desmond visited the Big House for the UMass game, but he was not sure how interested the Wolverines were. The old staff, however, watched his film and loved his versatility and grit. He grew up a Michigan fan, the name Desmond is after former U-M Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard, so his decision did not take long once offered.

Morgan's senior season was highlighted by his selection as all-area football defense as player of year. He had six forced fumbles, 55 total tackles in eight games.

His Commitment Comments
"When it came down to it, Michigan is where I grew up. It is a team that I've always dreamed about playing with and it is not that often you get to live out your dreams."

GoBlueWolverine Commentary
Morgan had a fantastic senior year. We knew coming into the year that he was a physical player with good instincts, toughness and tackling technique. At quarterback, his agility and speed have proven to us that he can be an every down, sideline to sideline linebacker. Even though it was his offensive highlights that we saw this on, he has raised his game on defense as well, making play after play against the state's best teams.
