Garmon talks about Michigan, other offers

Athlete Greg Garmon is one of the most intriguing players in Pennsylvania because of his size and versatile skill set as either a RB or DB. The Wolverines thought enough of the four star prospect to recently extend an offer his way.

GBW: I heard Michigan offered you a scholarship recently. How'd it come about?

Greg Garmon: "Michigan offered me two weeks ago. I called Coach Mallory, and then I talked the offensive coordinator and coach Hoke. They said their offering me to play in their new style offense. I'm happy I've got to know them."

GBW: Prior to the offer, did you know much about Michigan?

Greg Garmon: "No, not really."

GBW: Is there any chance of you making a trip to the campus so you can learn more about Michigan?

Greg Garmon: "Yeah, I probably get up there during the spring."

GBW: Is there any pressure for you to stay in state since you have the option of going to schools like Pitt or Penn State?

Greg Garmon: "There is a lot of pressure on me to stay in-state because my parents want me to stay close to home. But I have to find a place that I like and fit in at."

GBW: You have 14 offers right now. Have you had a chance to visit any of these schools yet? Does any visit stick out?

Greg Garmon: Yeah, I was down south for the North Carolina/Duke basketball game. It was crazy down there. You couldn't sit down, people stood up the whole game. I was also at North Carolina during the summer for a football camp. Butch Davis and their offensive coordinator broke down film, showed me the schemes for running backs."

GBW: Is there any schools that haven't offered that would like to hear from?

Greg Garmon: "I'm hoping the Iowa and Wisconsin offer."

GBW: Have you decided on how you're going to approach recruiting process?

Greg Garmon: "I'll probably take a couple visits this spring, then narrow things down to a top five. Then I'll take my official visits and make my decision by midseason."

GBW: What you make your decision, what are going to be the most significant factors in your decision?

Greg Garmon: "The relationship with the coaching staff and academics."

GBW: Can you kind breakdown your game for those that have never seen you play?

Greg Garmon: "I break in and out of my cuts well. I have good power, and never get caught in the open field."

GBW: Lastly, any chance of you getting to some camps or combines?

Greg Garmon: Yeah, I'll probably hit the Penn State Nike Camp, and the Nike Camp at Duke.
