Michigan Drops in on Jersey Safety

The Michigan coaching staff continues to look for defensive talent. One prospect hearing more and more from the Maize and Blue is New Jersey safety D.J. Singleton.

The physically imposing DB D.J. Singleton doesn't hold a Michigan offer yet, but the level of interest the Wolverines are showing in Singleton indicates that could change.

"Michigan's been giving me information, letting me know who they are and trying to let me know they're interested," the 6-foot-3, 195 pound safety told GoBlueWolverine.

College coaches have racked up the frequent flyer miles over the past week and one destination on Michigan's itinerary was Singleton's St. Peters Preparatory School in New Jersey.

"Curt Mallory was at my school this week," Singleton told GBW. "Michigan's been showing a lot more interest lately."

The 4 star safety currently holds offers from Big Ten powers Wisconsin and Nebraska, among others. With just 6 total offers Singleton isn't sure what his timeline will be, but he knows what he's looking for in a school.

"Academics will be important, I want to major in sports medicine. Next will be the school as far as feeling comfortable. And then my family -- I want my family to be able to see me play."

Stay tuned to GoBlueWolverine as this recruitment continues to evolve for the Wolverine.
