The Michigan coaching staff informed three-star prospect Trey Keenan they would be making a stop at his school during the spring evaluation period — and that day came earlier this week.
"Coach Funk came by (Wednesday) from Michigan," Keenan told GoBlueWolverine. "He came by and watched us practice today -- our workout that we normally have."
According to Keenan, Funk certainly liked what he had seen out of the young man.
"I called him later that night, and he just said that he really enjoyed what he saw out there. It was good — Michigan showed me they have plenty of interest because they sent a coach down here just to see me."
The Wolverines have entrenched themselves as a contender in Keenan's recruitment, even managing to recruit part of the family as well.
"Talking with him (Coach Funk) on the phone, and my grandma was in town from Michigan and all that — it was her birthday today so she couldn't have gotten better news than to have Michigan come by. It was a good thing to see them do all that for me."
From here the talented lineman will look to set up a visit to Ann Arbor early in the summer, GoBlueWolverine will have all the details when that trip is a go.
