One of the top prospects left on the board in the State of Michigan for the class of 2012 is Farmington Hills Harrison wide receiver Aaron Burbridge. After Michigan received commitments from two of Burbridge's teammates, it appeared Aaron could have been number three. Talking to GBW recently Aaron explains there a decision is not on the horizon as he continues mulling over offers.
"I've got offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Illinois, Notre Dame and Ohio State," Burbridge told GoBlueWolverine.
When asked who is recruiting him the hardest as of late the 6'1, 180 pound wide out gave a quick response.
"Michigan State," Aaron replied emphatically. "Michigan and Michigan State are really the only two teams I'm talking to."
The Spartans have managed to reel in a few wide receiver commitments for the class of 2012 but have clearly made the Harrison wide out a top priority. Michigan is another school in hot pursuit of the standout pass catcher and with two teammates currently committed to the Wolverines some would say the Wolverines have a leg up in this recruitment, but according to Aaron that's not the case.
"It's important, it's where I'm going to spend the next four years of my life. It's my decision though, I'm not going to give into the peer pressure because my two teammates are (committed). It's just a matter of fact if I want to go there or not."
Although Aaron has been battling a minor injury to his midsection over the past few weeks he says he'll be ready for the season. Harrison kicks there title defense off on Saturday, August 27th at Rynearson Stadium against Detroit Cass Tech. This matchup sets up what could be a one on one battle worth more than the entry fee. Terry Richardson on one side with Aaron Burbridge on the other. Will Aaron be looking to have a huge game?
"I go into every game thinking I want to win and knowing we want to win. Just because it's Terry Richardson doesn't make it any different you know."
With 7 months left until signing day there is still plenty of time for the in-state schools to battle it out for Burbridge. Stay tuned to GBW as Michigan continues to look for an elite receiver to add to their highly rated class.
