Aliquippa PA Has Another Top DB

Aliquippa, Pa., is the alma mater of former U-M great Ty Law. Aliquippa Head Coach Mike Zmijanac has another top DB coming up this year. He talked to yours truly about his new prodigy.

I asked Coach Zmijanac to talk about Aliquippa's defensive back Darelle Revis (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40).

"Darelle is a real good player, a terrific player. He's a little different kind of player than Ty Law was, but with the same skill level maybe. Darelle certainly has the skills for next level."

How are Darelle's academics?

"He'll qualify, he's a predictor."

Has Michigan been in to the school to see him this month?

"Michigan has been in the school already, yes; it was quarterback coach Scott Loeffler who was here. The visit went well. Pretty much everybody (meaning other colleges) has been through here."

Does Darelle have any scholarship offers?

"Yes, he has offers from Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia. He's totally open as far as favorite schools goes."

Does Darelle play other sports?

"He's a basketball player, he runs the 4 X 100 relay in track. But he's really a football player -- he spends a lot of time in the weight room."

Does he plan to go to any summer camps?

"No, because we have plenty of work for them right here in the summer."

Note: we will keep track of how Revis' U-M recruitment develops.
